John Mousinho shares devastating Portsmouth injury news straight after Ipswich loss, surgery needed
Portsmouth suffered a 2-1 loss to Ipswich on Saturday in what was a poor performance.
The hosts could have easily won by more, with Marlon Pack’s late goal one of the few highlights from the defeat.
However, it was always going to be a difficult match for Portsmouth, with numerous players out injured for the match.
Now, it appears the bad news keeps coming, as John Mousinho provided an injury update after the match.

Conor Shaughnessy set to have hamstring surgery
One of the biggest misses from the Ipswich game was Conor Shaughnessy.
The centre-back picked up an injury in the 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, with Mousinho since confirming that Shaughnessy has injured his hamstring.
So far this season, the 29-year-old had formed a formidable partnership with Regan Poole, which had statistically been one of the best backlines in the division.
- Shaughnessy had started every Championship match this season until his injury
- The centre-back had put in numerous strong performance that were vital to victories
- Now, Shaughnessy is set to be out of action for months
While it was unknown how long the defender would be out for, it was seen as a serious setback.
Now, Mousinho has confirmed to Andrew Moon via X on 27 September that Shaughnessy will be out of action until around Christmas, with the centre-back set to have hamstring surgery.

Portsmouth are in an injury crisis
There is now no doubt that Portsmouth are in an injury crisis.
The South Coast club are seemingly picking up long-term injuries every week, with Nicolas Schmid also facing months on the sidelines after the Southampton draw.
Portsmouth’s quality in-depth has been heavily questioned in recent weeks after the back-to-back defeats, and now players like Josh Knight will need to show Mousinho why he was brought in this summer.
If not, Pompey are at serious risk of once again looking over their shoulder and being dragged into another relegation battle.
