Luke Le Roux’s Portsmouth future slips further into oblivion after John Mousinho comments
Portsmouth are winless in three and in desperate need of a win before the October international break.
John Mousinho will be disappointed after his side lost a second consecutive game for the first time in the Championship this season at the hands of Ipswich Town.
Mousinho dropped Ben Killip for Joe Bursik as the Portsmouth head coach looks for a trustworthy number one after Nicolas Schmid’s injury update.
Portsmouth’s Colby Bishop has been out of form lately as Pompey’s only goal in the last three came through a stoppage-time consolation from Marlon Pack.
Portsmouth fans have urged Mousinho to start Pack in Pompey’s upcoming game against Watford.
Their wishes might be granted, but it could mean the end for Luke Le Roux following Mousinho’s recent remarks.

Luke Le Roux’s Portsmouth role unclear after Marlon Pack named ‘best player’
Andre Dozzell has been one of the first names on Mousinho’s team sheets so far this season as he occupies one of the two defensive midfield roles.
Luke Le Roux started his first Championship game for Portsmouth against Ipswich but was substituted early in the second half for goalscorer Pack.

- Four of his five Championship appearances have come from the bench

Mousinho has spoken on Pack’s impact as a substitute.
“I thought Marlon was brilliant on Saturday, our best player. He came on and showed the way,” he said, as per The News.
“We talk about the frustration of conceding that second goal, but once we actually started to find the players further forward through Marlon, we were better. He was excellent.
“He was in pre-season, to be honest. Then he picked up his knee injury before the Oxford United game, he was very close to starting that. He’s certainly not finished.”

Portsmouth’s midfield has missed Marlon Pack
Pack was immense when he came on against Ipswich, and made Pompey go down fighting against the newly relegated side.
| Minutes | Goals | Pass accuracy | Accurate long balls |
| 28 | 1 | 90% | 3 |
The game was Pack’s first minutes of the season, as the 34-year-old made his way back from injury.
Pack was instrumental in Pompey staying up last season, and starting him against Watford would give Mousinho’s side every chance of returning to winning ways.
Though, unfortunately for Le Roux, it looks like he will have to wait for another start.
