While Portsmouth have arguably failed to replace Potts, it would have been difficult for Pompey to bring in a player of the same quality.
Since his loan spell at Fratton Park ended, the midfielder has become a first-teamer at the Hammers and has made three appearances in all competitions to date.
The most recent came on Monday, with the midfielder being brought on against Everton as the match ended 1-1.
- Potts made 38 appearances for Portsmouth last season
- The midfielder is believed to have plenty of potential and is still only 22 years old
- Since his loan move at Fratton Park, he has become a first-teamer at West Ham
Since then, Potts has taken to Instagram on 30 September to react to his display, posting images of his appearance with the caption: “Incredible support last night. Onto the next!”
As a result, many of his former Portsmouth teammates were quick to react to the post.
Callum Lang, Nicolas Schmid, Colby Bishop and Josh Murphy all liked Potts’ post.
On top of this, former Pompey star Christian Saydee commented “Mr Essex” with a star eye emoji, whereas Isaac Hayden put a flame and a on top emoji.

Portsmouth should explore the loan market again in January
Portsmouth’s attacking woes have been well documented this season.
Bishop is struggling to find the net, with injuries now also starting to pile up for John Mousinho’s side.
Therefore, the manager should look to explore the loan market once more in January.
If Portsmouth are able to bring in an extra attacker on loan, it could help Pompey propel up the Championship table.
