Callum Lang reacts as exciting new Portsmouth announcement made
Portsmouth fans have had little to shout about in recent weeks.
The South Coast club are now winless in their last four outings and were only able to pick up a point against Watford on Wednesday night.
With Portsmouth also struggling to score, concerns are starting to creep in that another relegation battle could be on the cards.
However, good news has finally emerged at the South Coast club, with Callum Lang quick to react.

Josh Murphy pens new Portsmouth contract
Josh Murphy is no doubt a sensational player for Portsmouth.
Thanks to his performances last campaign, Murphy swept the end-of-season Portsmouth awards, as he established himself as one of the South Coast club’s best players.
In recent weeks, the winger has been injured, which has proven to be costly at Fratton Park, with Pompey failing to pick up a victory without him on the pitch.
Murphy’s Portsmouth future had also been in question, after Leicester attempted a late swoop for the winger.
- Murphy has become a crucial player since he signed for Portsmouth last season
- The winger picked up 21 goal contributions in the 2025-26 campaign
- Murphy has been out injured since the South Coast derby in September
While John Mousinho did manage to keep hold of his star man, there was a concern that the Foxes, or potentially another club, could push for a move in January or in the coming summer.
However, this now seems doubtful as Portsmouth confirmed on Thursday that Murphy had penned a new three-year deal, which will keep him at the South Coast club until 2028.
As a result, the winger posted the news on his Instagram on 2 October, much to the delight of many Portsmouth players.
Lang was one player to react, commenting: “Love this.”
Colby Bishop also responded putting, “Can’t wait,” with a love eyes and heart emoji, while Adrian Segecic put “Congrats bro,” with a love heart and praised hands emoji.
Jordan Williams also did not miss out on the news, simply commenting: “Things we love to see,” with a love eyes emoji.
Callum Lang has to be next in line for new Portsmouth deal
Now that Murphy is tied down for the foreseeable future, Portsmouth have to look to tie down Lang next.
The attacker’s contract is up in the summer, and could leave Fratton Park for free.
Lang’s importance to the team has become evident in recent weeks, with Pompey struggling up top without his presence as he looks to return from injury.
Hopefully, a new deal is now Portsmouth’s priority before other clubs look to turn his head.
