Portsmouth are currently on their worst run of the season as they prepare to host Middlesbrough this weekend.

Adrian Segecic came off the bench to rescue a point for Pompey in another frustrating display from John Mousinho’s men.
Portsmouth now face a stern test as they welcome league leaders Middlesbrough to Fratton Park, hoping to end the visitors’ unbeaten run.
Ahead of the game, there is a near 10-year record on the line that Pompey will be looking to break on Saturday.
Portsmouth looking for back-to-back wins against Middlesbrough
Mousinho has some selection calls to make ahead of Boro’s visit to the South Coast as he looks to turn things around for the Blues.
Portsmouth beat Middlesbrough 2-1 when the two sides last met in January 2025, with Matt Ritchie grabbing a brace.
If Pompey do pull off the win on Saturday, it will be the first time they have beaten Middlesbrough twice in a row in nine years.
Portsmouth were victorious twice over Boro in 2006, beating them 1-0 in April, followed by a 4-0 thrashing in August.
While it will be a tough task against Rob Edwards’ side, Pompey know how important a positive result on Saturday is to stop the slump.

John Swift was called out for his poor display, with fans annoyed they haven’t seen the best of the summer signing.
Colby Bishop has also struggled this season, only finding the back of the net once so far this campaign.
