Released Portsmouth Academy star begins coaching workshop after gaining UEFA licence

Portsmouth Academy alumnus Jack Fox has begun a new coaching venture after his departure from Fratton Park.

A member of Fox’s family shared a post on X [27 October] advertising a one-to-one coaching course offered by the former Blues Under-18s defender during this week’s half-term school holidays.

Fox – along with several of Pompey’s other ex-scholars – have recently qualified for their UEFA B coaching licence.

Having come through the ranks at Portsmouth, Fox was one of several players let go by the club last summer with no professional development bridge or Under-21s team currently in place.

Several of his academy teammates have found moves – Koby Mottoh joined AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League – and Fox himself has hit the ground running with Baffins Milton Rovers.

The city-based side also have the prolific veteran Brett Pitman in their ranks, an EFL Trophy-winning striker with Pompey.

With a decade of academy experience around some of the best coaches on the South Coast, Fox is now hosting sessions in Portsmouth and surrounding areas such as Gosport and Fareham.

It did not quite work out for him at Fratton Park, but Fox deserves praise for not feeling sorry for himself and getting on with his career elsewhere.
