David Norris shares what he has heard about Mark O’Mahony at Portsmouth during loan

David Norris has credited Mark O’Mahony for the impact he has made as a teenager in a struggling Portsmouth side in the Championship.

The 19-year-old Irish youth international arrived on loan from Brighton on August deadline day, just a day after scoring for the Seagulls in a Carabao Cup win over Crawley Town.

He notched goals for Pompey in successive games against Stoke City and Oxford United but has recently been dipped in and out of the side by John Mousinho.

“From what I’ve seen of him and heard about him, he’s been good and he’s made more of an impact than other players,” former Blues midfielder Norris exclusively told Pompey News.

“He has a real chance. He’s young but seems to have picked up the demands of the league and he’s scored a couple of goals. He could be important this season.”

Portsmouth impressed by Mark O’Mahony

Mousinho restored O’Mahony to the Portsmouth side against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday [25 October], but the side were unable to create too many chances.

The youngster was benched at Cardiff City although had suffered a minor groin injury against Oxford, having opened the scoring earlier in that game at Fratton Park [5 October].
