View: Welcome financial boost for Portsmouth Women as half-season tickets go on sale
Portsmouth Women have launched half-season tickets for after Christmas in what should be a vital boost to their finances.
The initiative, announced by the club via their official website [4 December], aims to rouse some integral support for Jay Sadler’s girls in what will be a mountainous survival fight in the Women’s Championship.
The half-season ticket incorporates six games across both Westleigh Park and Fratton Park, and is available now at a cost of £36 for adults, seniors at £27 and Under-18s at just £6, working out at just £1 per game.
Portsmouth Women offer can attract funds and community gathering
Portsmouth need to bring the local community around their women’s team and this is certainly the most effective way of doing so.
It will also bring a neat boost of funds which can be reinvested towards equipment, training facilities and into the wider infrastructure of the club.
Despite the injection of funds from the Eisners to help progress the team to professional status, this season in the Championship has been a real baptism of fire.
With just one point in the league and elimination from the League Cup in the group stage, it has appeared doom and gloom but many must remind themselves at just how large of a leap they have taken.
The FA Women’s Cup third round beckons against lower-league opponents Luton Town this Sunday [8 December], with Pompey for the first time this season favourites to claim victory in what could be a huge morale boost – on top of this welcome financial boost.
In other Portsmouth news, Pompey will look to deal with yet another fresh injury blow.
