Portsmouth ‘close to Kosznovszky agreement’ with transfer days away

Mark Kosznovszky has been linked with a move to Portsmouth.

John Mousinho is still searching for a replacement for Freddie Potts, who starred on loan with the Championship outfit last season.

Adrian Segecic became Portsmouth’s first addition this summer when he completed his move from Sydney FC earlier this month.

The MTK Budapest midfielder has been touted as a potential option after notching three goals and three assists in 25 matches last season.

The 23-year-old seems to be the Fratton Park outfit’s top target for their engine room, and they may be set for some very positive news soon.

Kosznovszky close to Portsmouth transfer amid new update

Portsmouth face a battle to sign Kosznovszky, with multiple second-tier clubs in the race for his signature.

Italian journalist Lorenzo Lepore (10 July) has reported that the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal for the Hungarian with Pompey’s final bid expected within four days.

He states that personal terms have not been agreed upon yet, but both sides are pushing to do the deal.

Portsmouth can seal Kosznovszky signing with final bid

The Hungarian has previously admitted that he wants to play in England, and he may get the chance with the PO4 outfit.

The South Coast side have reportedly already failed with a £517,000 bid, and it is believed that the Budapest outfit wants a fee over the seven-figure mark.

Mousinho has proven to have a great eye for talent, and if he thinks that the young midfielder is the right man, then the chances are that he is.

The ex-Burton Albion man and his charges are set to begin their training camp in Slovakia with a friendly scheduled for 15 July, and it would be great if they could secure a deal before then.

If not, and the Hungarian side continues to demand more than the Championship outfit is willing to pay, it may allow their rivals to swoop in and seal a deal in front of them.

Therefore, the Eisners need to back Mousinho to get his man and sanction a bid that would be accepted by Kosznovszky’s club before it is too late.
