‘Louie Barry on Mousinho’s radar at Portsmouth’ after loan developments – Exclusive
John Mousinho could eye a move for Louie Barry at Portsmouth this summer.
The Pompey boss has already added to his squad with the versatile Adrian Segecic coming in from Sydney at this stage of the window.
There now looks to be a need for further attacking reinforcements as Matt Ritchie looks likely to depart PO4 amid pre-season uncertainty.
This could leave the door open for Mousinho to bring in Barry from Aston Villa after the latest transfer saga at Villa Park.

Barry could join Portsmouth from Aston Villa
It is fair to say that strength in depth in forward areas would be a boost as the Fratton Park outfit moves into a second consecutive Championship campaign.
As a result, bringing in names with high levels of experience in the EFL could prove to be a wise move, if good value can be found.
With that being said, a summer swoop for Barry could make perfect sense after a permanent move to Hull City fell through at the final hour.
This could hand the Blues a perfect opportunity to land the 22-year-old as Unai Emery looks likely to part ways with the versatile forward.
Former Pompey midfielder Martin Allen believes Mousinho will have the Englishman on his radar this summer with a loan deal potentially on the cards.
Speaking exclusively to Pompey News, Allen said: “That would be a great move for Portsmouth.
“I’m sure John Mousinho has him on his radar. A loan deal would suit everyone perfectly well.
“It would take him some time to adjust to the way of life down there, but I think it would be a great move for him.
“I can’t see any negative to that at all.“

Portsmouth could agree loan deal for Barry
With the likes of Colby Bishop and Josh Murphy already playing a key role in the Pompey squad, any additions have to be at a positive level.
This would certainly be the case with Barry, who was electric throughout his spell with Stockport County, before joining Hull on an ill-fated spell.
Stat | Stockport County | Hull City |
Appearances | 24 | 4 |
Goals | 16 | 0 |
Assists | 2 | 0 |
The only downside could prove to be his injury record with the Tigers, which saw him ruled out for the campaign, but this may not hamper a move for Mousinho and Rich Hughes.
