Now, Chaplin has discussed his return to Fratton Park, highlighting how excited he is to get back out on the pitch as a Portsmouth player.
“I can’t wait, I’m really excited,” he said. “It will be a nice moment for me and my family, definitely. It’ll be a full circle.
“I can’t wait. It’ll be maybe a couple of weeks away now, so I’ll be counting down the days, and it’ll be a nice moment.”

Crystal Palace stars send messages as Franco Umeh
Another Portsmouth deadline day signing is Franco Umeh, who moved to the South Coast club from Crystal Palace on loan.
The winger is believed to have plenty of potential and has commonly featured on the bench for the Eagles.
Now, after his move to Portsmouth was confirmed, Umeh received multiple messages from Crystal Palace stars on Instagram, congratulating him on the move.
Tyrick Mitchell put: “Good luck bro,” with a love heart and fire emoji.
Justin Devenny responded with a heart hands, and fire emoji.
While Adler Nascimento simply put a goat emoji.
