Portsmouth fans slam Yang Min-hyeok after ‘dire’ scenes in Ipswich defeat
Portsmouth suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town on Saturday in a poor performance at Portman Road.
Multiple Portsmouth players were below par against Ipswich, and the hosts could have easily won by more.
It wasn’t until the introduction of Marlon Pack that Pompey looked like a side able to compete with the former Premier League outfit.
However, it could have been a completely different game if certain moments had gone in the visitors’ favour, with Yang Min-hyeok’s performance becoming a major talking point.

Yang Min-hyeok ‘not ready for the Championship’
Yang joined Portsmouth in the summer on loan from Tottenham. However, his stay at the South Coast club has not been a success so far.
Before the Ipswich match, the winger had only made two appearances for Pompey, with the South Korean picking up a knock in September.
Yet, when Yang has been fit to play, he has been poor for Portsmouth, with fans quick to criticise his previous displays.
Now, after the 19-year-old missed a golden chance to net the equaliser in the second half, many Pompey fans are now beginning to question his ability.
Yang is absolutely dire. #pompey #spurs

We could have played better but certainly wouldn’t say it’s a toys out of the pram performance #pompey
On top of this, many simply believe that the winger is not good enough for the Championship.

How bad was Yang Min-hyeok vs Ipswich?
While Yang was poor against Ipswich, he certainly was not the worst player on the pitch.
According to Fotmob, while the winger did miss a big chance, he remained creative, collecting a 0.25 xG.

Minutes | 74 |
Big chances missed | 1 |
Chances created | 1 |
xG + xA | 0.76 |

With Yang’s appearances likely to be limited anyway, the South Korean could prove to be an asset coming off the bench once Josh Murphy and Conor Chaplin are back in the team.
Hopefully, the winger will soon pick up a goal as well to boost his confidence and get his Pompey career up and running.
